Professor in Media Studies, Head of NetLab, and of the Centre for Internet Studies
Niels Brügger is Professor in Media Studies and Head of the Centre for Internet Studies at Aarhus University. Coordinator of the European network RESAW, a Research Infrastructure for the Study of Archived Web Materials. His research interests are the history of the Internet as a means of communication, and Digital Humanities, including archiving the Internet as well as the use of digital research tools. Within these fields he has published monographs and a number of edited books as well as articles in international journals and edited volumes. Since 2010 he is a member of the national Danish Internet Archive, Netarkivet’s, editorial board, and since 2012 he is member of the international editorial board of the journal New Media & Society.
